Southern District of New York has ordered Russian hacker, Andrei Tyurin, to pay $19.9 million to victims, according to Russian media outlet, Tass, who has reviewed documents. He carried out one of the largest cyberattacks against a US bank that “netted Tyurin over $19 million in criminal proceeds,” according to the DOJ press release.

Tyurin was extradited from Georgia to the United States in 2018, and in January, sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty in 2019. He was charged with stealing personal data from more than 80 million clients of JPMorgan Chase & Co and other US financial institutions.
